Teamnet enters the Italian UAV market

Teamnet Group will supply advanced UAV technologies on the Italian market as a result of a strategic partnership with Geocart

Bucharest, May 10th, 2016 – Teamnet Group, one of the main system integrators in the region and the first company in Romania to design and build enterprise Unmanned Aerial Vehicles announces the entrance on the Italian UAV market, a result of a strategic partnership with Geocart, one of the leading engineering companies in the country.

Teamnet will supply both public and private organizations in Italy with advanced UAV technologies integrated with the GIS solutions and services developed by Geocart Italy, an engineering company specialized in delivering innovative solutions, sensors and services to sectors such as Infrastructures, Energy, and ICT. The UAV solutions offered by the two companies will enable monitoring and collection of high accuracy data from the ground, with extensive applicability in the Enterprise sector, as well as in various industries such as emergency, agriculture, environmental protection, transportation or energy. UAVs enable real time data collection in situations of emergency such as fires, floods, landslides, monitoring roads, railways and maritime transport routes, as well as critical infrastructures.

“According to the studies in the past two years, the Italian UAV market experienced strong growth, Italy ranking third among European exporters of UAVs, following France and Austria, and fifth on a global scale, after Israel, the United States, Canada and Russia. Furthermore, Italy imports 9.8% of the total number of drones produced worldwide and as such is preceded as an importer only by India (13.2 %) and UK (34%)2. There is a growing demand when it comes to UAV systems and expertise in the UAV technology has been proven so far. The unmanned systems developed by the company are already being used in several countries in the region and making a real difference through extensive applicability in various industries”, stated Florin Hoinarescu, Head of International Division at Teamnet Group.

Teamnet is actively involved in the research and development of the UAV technologies, with the aim to contribute to the projection and integration of innovative solutions for monitoring and collection of high accuracy data from the ground. Geocart, Italian market leader in customized surveillance solutions, with a wide GIS expertise, will integrate Teamnet aircraft components and technologies. Teamnet is among the first companies in the region integrating the GIS technology with the UAV systems, in order to deliver full solutions to SMEs.

Teamnet and Geocart will also cooperate on research and development programs for Horizon2020 and European Space Agency.
