Teamnet estimates an average annual growth of the UAV segment from the portfolio of over 30% by 2020

Bucharest, April 5, 2016 – UAV Products (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles – UAVs) and integrated systems are technologies that will attract one of the largest investments this year, according to Teamnet Group’s forecasts, one of the most important systems integrators at regional level. Teamnet is actively involved in research and development of UAV technology, being the first local company that designs and integrates unmanned aircraft systems (known by the general public as drones) for the Enterprise segment. Thus, Teamnet estimates that the UAV segment of the group’s portfolio will register an average annual growth of over 30% by 2020, estimation that includes local and international market.

uav4UAV technology dedicated to Enterprise environment represents the market segment with the highest growth potential in the long term, both in terms of value and economic impact, compared to the segment of unmanned aircrafts dedicated to consumers or military field. Globally, the number of unmanned aircrafts used by large and very large companies is expected to exceed 800,000 in 2021, almost eight times more than this year’s level, according to a study by Business Insider (BI) Intelligence and quoted by Teamnet. According to the same report BI, UAV industry will exceed 10 billion euros over the next five years.

“To fully benefit from the applicability of UAV technology in the Enterprise environment, it is needed a legal framework to include drones in the airspace. Current technologies for monitoring UAV traffic and control systems for air traffic provide the authorities who have skills on the regulation in the field, to control flights performed using aerial vehicles and to provide operating permits to drone users from the Enterprise segment” says Bogdan Padiu, CEO Teamnet Group.

Globally, major industries employing UAVs are the photographic field for taking images from the air (42.9%), real estate (20.7%), utilities (10.9%), construction (8.6%) and agriculture (8%).

The integrated UAV systems dedicated to the Enterprise environment are designed for professional use, video broadcast or collection of high resolution images. They have the ability to integrate performing sensors and provide autonomy and stability over time. Hirrus provides relevant images and live video transmission with high accuracy. The user has also the possibility of accessing complex deliverables, such as 3D images of a region, through the integration of UAV technology with GIS and Cloud. More information about the UAV applicability are available here.

Teamnet is currently implementing an educational approach about drones’ applicability at regional level and their potential for the Enterprise sector. One of the actions of this kind took place last week at Drone Fest Croatia, the first UAV event in Zagreb, where Teamnet participated, along with other technology companies in the region.

There are three main types of UAVs: toys (having as particularity the flight and small size; these may include sensors and cameras), commercial UAVs (built to fly outdoors; they are pre-set to fly, but not on long distances developments or for carrying out complex missions), Enterprise UAVs, as Hirrus (for professional use or via video or collection of high resolution images etc.). Enterprise unmanned aircrafts have an integration capacity of performant sensors and provide autonomy and stability.
