Teamnet provides Hirrus UAV integrated system for search mission of missing glider

uavBucharest, August 13th, 2015 – Teamnet Group has volunteered to provide to the authorities, since August 11th, the Hirrus system, based on the UAV technology (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles), for the search mission of the glider declared missing on August 6th.

Hirrus started the monitoring activity on August 12th , while involving a team of specialists from the company. Yesterday, the unmanned aircraft monitored a surface of 33 square kilometers in the area of the mountain peak Țigăi, Brașov County, and collected from the air 4,136 high-precision photographs for mapping this surface. Shortly, the images were transmitted to the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations in order to be analyzed.

On August 13th, the team continues to monitor a broader surface using the Hirrus system, in the area of the lake Tărlung, in Brașov.

The unmanned air vehicle Hirrus has an autonomy of approximately three hours and can reach speeds of more than 110 kilometers an hour, at heights of more than 2,500 meters. The result of an investment and research project, developed over a period of two years, Hirrus integrates advanced technologies with applicability in emergency situations, as well as in urban development, law enforcement and agriculture.
