Teamnet Group and Orange Romania, part of NEXES project for research and development of emergency services in Europe
Bucharest, July 8th, 2015 – Teamnet Group, one of the most important IT&C integrators in the region, and Orange Romania will contribute to the implementation of a project for the research and development of next-generation emergency services in Europe. The two companies are part of a recognized international consortium which will develop the NEXES Action (Next Generation Emergency Services).
NEXES aims to innovate the emergency services in Europe, through the research and development of advanced IP-based communication systems and technologies. Therefore, the European project which will be implemented between 2015 and 2018, aims to enable the integrated communication in emergency situations, including channels such as social media, the exploitation of location information systems to rapidly and effectively identify and locate emergency situations and the increase of the interoperability of IT emergency systems at European level.
Within the project, Orange will ensure the expertise and communication infrastructure based on which Teamnet will develop and integrate software services for the applications dedicated to the emergency services at national level. Thus, aside from voice calls, it will also be possible to send multimedia messages, providing access to citizens and officials of healthcare institutions on any type of device such as smartphone or tablet to intervene in the shortest time possible in an emergency situation.
“NEXES is an extremely important initiative of the European Union, part of the research and development programme “Horizon 2020″, which has the potential to contribute in a sustainable way to revolutionize the emergency services through their democratization and standardization all over Europe. We are proud to be part of this consortium and thus, support the transformation and evolution of society through technology”, stated Bogdan Padiu, CEO Teamnet Group.
NEXES offers support for the EU objectives to develop a universal system for the management of emergency services at European level. The project will manage the exploitation of broad communication and location information systems in order to offer citizens next-generation services, at highest standards, for a safer society.
Coordinated by RINICOM, leader in broadband wireless communication services and surveillance systems in the UK, in partnership with the Police And Crime Commissioner For West Yorkshire (United Kingdom) the NEXES consortium combines the solid expertise and broad competencies in the development of innovative technologies and solutions of 17 public and private organisations in 10 European countries.
