The Signus prototype was designed to operate at a maximum speed of 230 km/h. With a maximum 100 kilograms take-off weight, Signus can reach 3,000 meters height. The system is interoperable with the same command and control station which the Hirrus aircraft is operated with, providing customers with both tactical and operational capabilities.

Through innovative technologies and the high level of performance, the  unmanned aircraft will conduct complex actions of monitoring and collecting data in real time from the ground, with great benefits in areas such as emergency situations, agriculture, environment, transport or energy, but also in national and border security. For example, Signus will be able to collect real-time data in emergency situations such as fires, floods or landslides, will supervise and monitor the environment and climate change, flora and fauna in protected areas, pollution levels in the atmosphere, road, rail or sea routes, as well as critical infrastructures.

“We work together with academic research institutions such as Faculties of Aeronautics, Automation, Electronics and Computer Science, because, with them, we want to overcome the current limitations of the technology and put Romania back on the country map with a tradition in the aviation, this time, in the UAV technology”, added Bogdan Padiu.
