LakeSide Conference 2008


   Between 9 and 12 July, in the Velden resort in southern Austria, on the Worthersee river side the 2008 LakeSide Conference took place. Within this global forum, where TeamNet also attended, there where discussed future trends regarding transport safety, under the "Safety in Mobility" motto. Important ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) producers, transport infrastructure operators, scientists from 15 European nations, officials from the European Union Institutions and from the United States where present.

   Involved in the past years in ITS projects, as an integrator and also on the technical side, putting accent on software development, TeamNet attended to this event with a presentation regarding it’s own results that where obtained in informational system modeling, mainly those within the transportation safety domain.

   From the numerous projects that TeamNet implemented along time to clients, the following where given as examples: Roris, Coopers and SafeSeaNet, all belonging to ITS domain.

   „We used this opportunity in order to increase visibility over our own activities, mainly on European level, but even over the Atlantic. We managed to identify common challenges met in the discussed projects and we consulted with specialists from other countries regarding the technical and the organizing approach of the activities” said George Stan, the director of the Oracle department within TeamNet.

   For TeamNet this conference confirmed the company position among the European software producers. „Regarding ITS, we are already participating in European consortiums both in long term research projects and in infrastructure development projects, with much faster effects. Our achievements meet the European standards and encourage us to continue to provide a special attention to this field”, added George Stan.

   Organized by ATTC - Austrian Traffic Telematics Cluster, AustriaTech - Federal Agency for Technological Measures, U.S. Commercial Service Austria and Lakeside Science Technology Park, the conference was a real success, both throught the interesting presentations and through the direct experience exhanges and the newly formed relations .
